Foreign exchange programs have always been popular, and more school are centering class subjects around a trip to the appropriate country. For instance, a program centered around English literature in the 18th century might take a trip to Europe through London, Dublin, and Wales.
Teaching students about a place they have never, and may never get to see is difficult; however, for some teachers and subjects teaching students is just plain difficult. Giving the student a more hands on look at the subject would increase interest and improve their subject skills.
